Mac Repair FAQs

Honest answers to the questions Melbourne Mac owners ask us most often.

Do you repair M1, M2, and M3 Macs?

Yes. We service all Apple Silicon Macs including M1, M2, M3, and their Pro/Max/Ultra variants. From MacBook Air to Mac Studio, we know these chips inside and out and can troubleshoot hardware and software issues specific to Apple Silicon.

How much does a MacBook screen repair cost?

We don't fit MacBook screens — that's workshop hardware work. We can confirm whether the fault really is the panel and tell you what a fair replacement should cost, then refer you to Apple or a specialist. Onsite Mac support is $205/hr, remote $125/hr.

Can you upgrade my Mac's storage?

For many Mac models, yes. Older MacBooks (pre-2016) and some iMacs allow straightforward SSD upgrades to larger, faster drives. Newer Macs with soldered storage are more limited, but we can advise on external solutions or data management options.

Do you fix iMacs?

Absolutely. We service all iMac models — the older 21.5" and 27" aluminium iMacs as well as the newer 24" M1/M3 models. Screen replacement, storage upgrades, RAM upgrades (where possible), and macOS troubleshooting are all within our wheelhouse.

Is it worth repairing an old Mac?

Often, yes. A 2015-2019 MacBook Pro with a new battery and SSD can feel like a brand-new machine for a fraction of the replacement cost. We'll give you an honest assessment — if it's not worth repairing, we'll tell you straight up and help you plan a cost-effective upgrade.

What about Apple warranty?

If your Mac is under AppleCare or manufacturer warranty, we recommend using Apple's official channels for covered repairs. For out-of-warranty Macs — which is most of what we see — we offer faster turnaround, competitive pricing, and the convenience of coming to you. We also help with older Macs and problems the Genius Bar often can't fit in same-day — setup, migration, macOS and software. Hardware repair we refer to a specialist.

More Melbourne Tech Help

A Mac issue rarely travels alone. Our local technicians cover the lot across Melbourne — same-day and on-site.

No Fix, No Fee applies to standard remote and on-site technical support where we are unable to resolve your issue. It excludes hardware repairs, does not guarantee a resolution within the minimum one-hour visit, and does not cover additional labour time or parts, which remain payable. Where additional work is quoted and not accepted, No Fix, No Fee does not apply to that work.
